Gti 6 In 205 Running Problem

Recommended Posts

whizzer71

Hi guys, still have problem with gti6 engine in my 205,has flat spot and major hesitation until warm, pretty much goes when fully warmed up,engine will die on part throttle acceleration unless you either come off the pedal and re apply,or floor it alltogether and then it goes off like a rocket.

Have tried replacing coolant temp senser & map sensor ,have also cleaned out throttle body and replaced the fuel filter.

Fuel pressure regulator is new also,Im starting to get a bit hacked off with the thing now as when its warmed up completely it runs fine unless I get stuck in trafic for some time where the engine is required to run at around 2500/3000 rpm at which point the problem re appears until you give the car a good spanking again at which point it goes away again.

Have also tried another Ecu with no change.

Did wonder if Its the throttle body thats causing the problem as the plastic breather elbow was broken off before I got the engine I just blanked the hole off by filling it with silicone sealant and vented the breather pipe to atmosphere.

Would appreciate any ideas help etc.

Cheers

Tristan

Have you taken it to peugeot to get the ECU read out?

Did you clean the ICV in combo with an ECU reset?
