Oil Filter Problem

Recommended Posts

Not sure if Ive got the wromng filter or if I'm missing a part as the oil filter is a female thread as is the block where it fastens on. If someone can point me in the right direction then I can resolve this little niggle. Its on an engine I bought without filter so no idea whats wrong

My other idea is to maybe fit an oil cooler of a 306 TD asit looks asthough it will fit straight on.

Could do with more info - std filters are female thread - can't think why you've got an engine with a female thread on it (what is it?)

sorry its a 1.9 gti, not sure of year as I didnt get any history at all with the engine. I thought it strange as Ive always seen pug filters as female thread, never seen a male thread one. Fairly certain something is missing.

Not a very clear pic but you can see where the filter should mount its a female thread also.

Did you remove the old filter yourself? if not maybe the person who did, removed the filter and the threaded tuve that goes into the block came out in the filter? this has happened to me before. If so you can get the threaded tube that goes into the block from pug
