Mi Head Rebuild, Where Does This Go?

Right putting the head back together tonight and came across a small problem. I remember taking this widget out but can't remember where it goes or find any mention of it in the joke book.

Well I'll give that one a damn good clean out tonight since I didn't get one with my HG kit that had everything else but the kitchen sink

 

I just quickly put the inlet on with the two nuts last night to see what it looks like:
