Jets In Webber 45s

Recommended Posts

jamie_st200

Alright people,

i had my 45's set up a while back and the car made 182bhp and i was happy with that.. then the car was not used for 6 months and now it seems to be running really rich..loads of black smoke, spluttering and drinking fuel and popping its arse off..

anyway from what i gathered from reading post on here is you have no mixture screw you just change the jets to alter the mixture??

so can anyone tell me what jets i should have and what ones i can check?

i know you take the cover off of the top of the carbs but i dont know what ones do what..

i know this is a lot to ask but i thought some of you expects might know off of the top of you heads...

thanx anyway..

jamie.

rescue dude

Have you checked to see if the floats are sticking?

Or now full of fuel cos they're cracked?

Had this problem with my 40's. Anyone got a brass float they don't want i need one?

The black smoke is a bit worrying though.

HI. Similiar problems, mine is a s16 with webber 45, they were running fine on the previous s16, were taken off and stored for 3 months , now put on new s16 engine and are missing, there seems to be fuel gathering in the trumpets? Also when its stood still the revs start to rev up and down , then when i drive off it starts backfiring through the trumpets?

Do they need to be loosened, tightened?

Adjusted, from where?

Or just cleaned?

But i done get black smoke.
