Don't worry how it looks, they do look different, but all your seeing is a different outer seal/protector.

It sounds like you either haven't pushed it in enough (it should be flush or so) or you've caught and damaged the inner part of the seal when putting it on. Very easy to do unfortunately. B)

you sure its coming from that seal? could be from the seal on the speedometer drive housing or the speedometer drive itself. Wipe it clean with tissue then leave it and wipe agin. If its leaking round theother areas it will show straight away on tissue.

Had taht problem myself last week. You need to really tighten up the carrier bearing 11ms. The drive shaft slots in nice and well, but the oil seal needs to be over the lug on the drive shaft. Thats why you have to pull the bearing in tight. The ds oil seal is different now because it's superseeded. The oil seal you have now is common on all pugs petrol and diesel so yes your local pug garage should stock them and if not they need slappped. lol. Just let the car sit over nite with a clean sheet of cardboard under it to make sure, when you've the job done.

Have you fitted the driveshaft & checked if its leaking then??

With no driveshaft in it'll drain straight out!!

my car is now untilted using qep manifold spacer kit.i can really rev it and not worry about oil serge as it was always on my mind when i drove it.now i am going to drive it how a mi16 205 should be im having some fun.(until the next time something goes wrong ha ha)
