jonarob 0 Posted January 27, 2006 So, do all 205 seats fit in any 205 with no fuss, or do I have to make a plate thing? Only I'll be wanting to put some full leathers in a 1.6 when I buy one. Thanks a lot. BTW: I did a search and couldn't really find anything.
Jonmurgie 2 Posted January 27, 2006 Yes, they should all fit fine as long as they are 205 seats... 309 seats have to be 'played' with to get them to fit...
jonarob 0 Posted January 27, 2006 (edited) Excellent, thanks a lot edit: is there a guide to fitting seats or is it pretty self explanatory? Edited January 27, 2006 by jonarob
Guest smokinslim Posted January 27, 2006 U will need a T40 (size) Torx bit to get the bolts undone, and have to slide the seats back and forth a bit to get to the bolts. Pretty simple to do though

Pretty simple to do though I would advise buying a Ratchet spanner with Torx drives for this job as there is not much to manouvere, made the job so much easier
jonarob 0 Posted January 27, 2006 Ace! Thanks a lot all of you
timmsy19 3 Posted January 27, 2006 also the plastics side trims on the seats are a bugger if u put them onto the original subframes but bit of brute force will do it
Paintguy 0 Posted January 28, 2006 A few people have had trouble with the inner rear bolts (nearest to the seat belt mounting) being seized, and rounding off the heads. A bit of preparation beforehand should relieve this problem. Just get underneath the car and wire brush the threads a day or so in advance, and spray some penetrating oil on them (or at the least WD40). Repeat as many times as you want, then do it again just before you tackle the seat swap. The bottom of the threads are easy to find, just look for the reinforcing plates underneath the car, either side of the tunnel.

pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted February 2, 2006 To follow up on what Paintguy said, when you are underneath get a spare M8 nut & once you've cleaned the threads up with the wire brush, run a nut up & down them a few times to clean the threads further with some grease on the exposed bolts. Frequentflyer 0 Posted February 2, 2006 So, do all 205 seats fit in any 205 with no fuss, or do I have to make a plate thing? Only I'll be wanting to put some full leathers in a 1.6 when I buy one. Thanks a lot. BTW: I did a search and couldn't really find anything. Hi there, I guess it depends on which seats you are intending to fit in your 205, i.e., out of which model? I recently fitted the front seats out of a 405 Mi 16 into my CTi. From front bolt to back bolts on each seat was OK - i.e., the same measurement. But from side to side, the bolt holes on the 405 seat were just over half an inch wider. Using the advice of another member, I had a plate made up for each seat. Then using the sub-frames off the 205 seats, which I was discarding, I attached the plate to the inner side of each 405 seat - attached the 205 seat sub-frames to the seat bolt holes on one side, and to the plate holes on the other side - finally attached the sub-frames, with seats attached, back to the floor. The only other thing that was a problem, was that the lever on the 205 seat sub-frame - used to tip the seat - then snagged the wheel on the 405 seat, used to alter the rake of the backrest. The way round this was to reverse the 405 seats, so that you end up with the 405 passenger seat, as the drivers seat in the 205. As some other members have said, getting the 205's securing bolts out - that secure the sub-frames to the floor - can be a problem. I was lucky - after I also had invested in a Torq wrench etc, although I had to use an Alan key on the inside front bolts on each side, due to lack of head-room. If it is on any use, I have a drawing of the plates with measurements. I also have some photos taken during the exercise. I have yet to try and re-install the plastic side-skirts that came on each side of the 405 seats, or indeed the skirt off the outer side of the 205 seats. I am not sure that I will attempt either, as they look Ok as they are. The ex 405 seats are very comfortable, and give good hold. Being all black leather, they look the part. My problem now is to find some matching all black leather rear seats - that will fit a CTi?!? Good luck with yours Roy
Guest bernieslaven Posted March 5, 2006 I fitted the full leathers from the rear seats of my 1.6GTi into my CTi. I did it by removing the leather outer, and then fitting it over the CTi rear seat frame. This operation involves a small amount of cutting of the inner lining to separate the outer covers from the frame. The main problem (i.e. why it wasn't just a straight swap, GTi - CTi) is that the GTi rear seats are wider than in the Cabriolet model due to the power hood mechanics being at either side of the rear seats. The bench part will fit fine, but i had to swap the bench mounting brackets over for a perfect fit as they are slightly different dimensions on each model. The tricky part was folding away the excess leather, which was just tucked away neatly behind the seats, leaving only the trained eye able to tell. Whilst on this thread, i would like to know if anyone has ever modified interiors from other cars to fit their 205? I dont know anything about sub frames (other thn it must be the part that fixes to the 205 floor) or how sub frames may differ from different car manufacturers. Have been searching on ebay for a full leather interior and there are plenty of full leather interiors going - in particular there's a Citroen set with electric heated/moveable seats which requires a connection to the battery - is this possible? Any advice would be gratefully received - i am assuming that as long as the dimensions of the seats 'fit' inside the 205, its just a matter of bespoke fitting with a couple of extra nuts/bolts. Cheers DT
