Ryan 99 Posted January 25, 2006 Just how tight is the spring supposed to be? I had to use a g-clamp to get the 2 halves of the pump back together so I could put the bolts in. There can't be more than 5-6mm of movement left for the piston.
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted January 25, 2006 They are pretty tight, I didn't have to use anything to close the pump halves when I fitted mine but iirc they are at least 1" longer than the standard ones. Graham.
Ryan 99 Posted January 25, 2006 Mine might be a slightly different spring then. It's only 10mm longer that the standard spring, but it's noticably stiffer. It was bought from rallycar.com a year ago.
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted January 25, 2006 I might be wrong about the extra length, I didn't meaure it & this is from memory. I remember it was longer though & I'm sure it was more than 10mm. I got mine from Shenpar who got it from Peugeotpsort so it would be the same thing. Graham.
Bonzai 2 Posted January 25, 2006 i got mine from AB motorsport. it was definately longer, about an inch wasnt easy to refit the pump together, but not impossible with my bare hands
iety2004 0 Posted January 26, 2006 Whats are the benifits for running higher oil pressure? Sorry if this has been covered before
Bonzai 2 Posted January 26, 2006 im led to believe its to keep up oil pressure in the high end of the rev range when the oil starts to thin out. Cant be bad for business anyway
petert 586 Posted January 26, 2006 Whats are the benifits for running higher oil pressure? The rule of thumb is 10 psi per 1000 rpm. The Grp A spring is just the XU10J4 spring. $5 from Peugeot. Don't get ripped off.
