Tyres- Proxes T1r Best Alternative To F1's?

Recommended Posts

benje

Now before everyone tells me I shouldnt be fitting em to speedlines, there not for a 205 GTi!

I cant get Goodyear F1's in that size, but can get the Toyo's for about £50 a corner, are they a viable alternative?

If I get them off the net, realistically, how much should I expect to pay a tyre fitter to fit them for me? £10 a corner?

Thanks again

Ben

The T1R's aren't bad by any means, but they're not a patch on GSD3 F1's.

pretty good tyre for a 205 as it's lightweight, but it's much worse for heavier cars.

their flaw is that they rapidly loose grip while wearing, and they wear quickly!

I have these on my subaru and have found they have worn really well as well as giving good grip levels. I dont find them as grippy as the normal T1 though, but do wear much better. I have done about 10000 miles on this set and they are still going good, the other T1's I had lasted less than 2000 miles although some of that was doing some autotesting.

I think a reasonable tyre for the price you pay. Is a tyre that costs twice as much gonna last twice aslong or be twice as good?
