Ryan 99 Posted January 16, 2006 My mi16 crank span freely when I test-built it without the thrust washers, but a soon as I put them in it gets tight. Crank end-float is literally zero. The problem is that I have standard sized thrust washers which are apparently the smallest size available. Has anyone else had this problem?
Bonzai 2 Posted January 16, 2006 my engine is in roughly the same state of rebuild, the mains are on but not torqued up and the thrust washers are in, the crank wont spin freely at all. ive got standard size also
M3Evo 0 Posted January 16, 2006 (edited) Hmm that seems odd, shouldn't there be 0.1mm end float or something? (that's from memorys of over a year ago) Should definately spin freely though like you say! Wouldn't be something like there being different ones for an 8v that are thicker would it? Miles 331 1 Cars Posted January 16, 2006 Just hone the bearings down to suit, As i think all the end float bearings come in one size
