2-row To 3-row Ecu Conversion?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just wondering if the only difference between a 2 & 3 row ECU engine is the knock sensor (obviously the loom & ECU are different)?

So could I just drill & tap the block and insert the knock sensor? From memory I think there is a flat on the block casting of a 2-row ECU engine, where the knock sensor should go.

Higgy.

theres no need to drill and tap a thread, the knock sensor bolt is a stud that replaces a main bearing cap bolt on the front of the block, so you need to swap the plain bolt you have now for the stud and you're sorted.

just make sure you torque it up properly so you dont overtighten the main bearing
