Higgy 0 Posted January 12, 2006 Hi, Just wondering if the only difference between a 2 & 3 row ECU engine is the knock sensor (obviously the loom & ECU are different)? So could I just drill & tap the block and insert the knock sensor? From memory I think there is a flat on the block casting of a 2-row ECU engine, where the knock sensor should go. Higgy. jackherer 543 Posted January 12, 2006 theres no need to drill and tap a thread, the knock sensor bolt is a stud that replaces a main bearing cap bolt on the front of the block, so you need to swap the plain bolt you have now for the stud and you're sorted. d-9 0 Posted January 12, 2006 just make sure you torque it up properly so you dont overtighten the main bearing
