kate205gti 4 Posted January 11, 2006 i know this is a simple answer but i cant find it my cti knocks slightly when reversing from underneath somewhere, its not loud or fast knocking (more a dull clonk really) and doesnt seem to be related to braking ive got a long driveway i have to reverse out of and makes a clonk.....clonk.... clonk.... noise as im going backwards about 5-10mph (can feel it through the floorplan), noticed a vibrating from underneath on the M4 on sunday briefly but that then stopped and hasnt returned any ideas of what to check please
TEKNOPUG 3 Posted January 11, 2006 First suspicion would be the brakes. Mine do this. It's something to do with the pad locating pin IIRC? Failing that, just check everything for play and that all nuts & bolts are tight. Could be the brake shields broken on the back?
sorr 0 Posted January 11, 2006 Also check the sub frame bolts are tight, that was what was wrong with mine and it had teh same symptoms. (As diagnosed and fixed by Anthony - thanks again)
j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted January 11, 2006 Check your exhaust centre rubber, exhaust maybe hitting linkage.
