Low Rev Misfire

Can anyone give me some ideas what could cause this?

 

The car starts fine and idles well when cold, I can accelerate no problems. Once the water temp is up it will sputter when accelerating at low revs, sometimes it cuts out at idle as if you turn the ignition on/off. It's fine at higher (above 2k) revs. Once the engine is fully warm though it runs perfectly.

 

I've tried changing ignition leads and this solved the problem for a couple of weeks but it's back again which makes me think the leads were OK but whatever was failing originally is getting worse.

 

Also, my battery is going flat when parked up (was new a month ago). Does anyone know what resistance I should see between the terminals with the battery disconnected and all electrics off?

What is the condition if the distributer cap & rotor arm? I had this on a 309SRi & thought these bits were less than 6 months old so I never looked & tried ignition amps, fuel filter etc only to find the inside of the cap was tracked & the arm was dead. Replaced these & it never missed another beat before it was stripped.

if its fuel injection,a possibility cud where the air filter bolts to the injection cud b blocked up it happened to my m8s saxo,but then again the head gasket was going skimmed head new coil plugs and leads solved it and a engine flush

Sounds like the distributer cap and arm, but thats if i understand the problem (You said its fine when cold and fully warmed up - but not inbetween?? :ph34r: )

Yeah, thats right. It's fine when the engine is stone cold or been running for 15 mins or so but plays up in between. I'll try the dizzy cap and arm, they're very recent, but they are pattern parts which normally seems to mean a lifespan of 2 months on my car. :ph34r:

Are all the ecu plugs on the right parts? Only two you can mix are SAD (black 2-pin) & SAD (Blue 2-pin).
