mbayley77 0 Posted January 10, 2006 My friend got his car done there and had good results. Tiptons seems to be the number one but try getting in their before monkeys take over the world! Also have heard various things about Rowleys garage in Collumpton but not sure what they are really like. Gonna have to get some prices cos dont have great funds so need somewhere that is gonna know what they are doing and not dilly dally around all day racking up my bill. kenan 0 Posted January 10, 2006 I live down the Road from Tipton and have a friend who has had several engines (carbs/throttle bodies/injection) sorted there and have been very good. You could also try SRD (Shillibear Race Designs) down launston way, good with Pugs and build my 8v engine.
mbayley77 0 Posted January 10, 2006 hey thats cool. another one for the list thank you. Launceston is easy for me to get too straight on the a30. How was your engine you got from there?
kenan 0 Posted January 10, 2006 My engine was fantastic, sold it due to needing somthing with better MPG due to using the car every day. Was 8v on carbs, uprated pistons, full head work cams etc and was running 142@ the wheels so was very happy Now running a standard MI and feels much slower
mbayley77 0 Posted January 10, 2006 i have the mi on carbs but feels lame at the moment and just been listening closely and sounds like a tappet has let go or something making hell of a noise!!! Always bloody something. I really want to put some big cams in mine.

I grew up down the road from Tipton (Newton Poppleford) and cycled past said garage on many occasions. Just looks like a typical grimey village outfit, but it ones like that that are often the best! I would have got my first 1.6 rolling roaded there had I ever got around to it.

Its still really the typical old styley garage that is basically a shed but those guys apparently know more than most!!!
