nelly 0 Posted January 10, 2006 How easy is it to replace the "clocks" from a lower spec 205 for those of a gti? is it just a case of changing the surround and matching the plug in the back of the clocks thanks niall

Woosey 0 Posted January 10, 2006 being more specific a rallye/ xs dash for a gti rallaye clocks have RPM dont they? anyhow, you need to swap the loom over to get GTi clocks to work.
taylorspug 7 Posted January 10, 2006 (edited) Not all rallye clocks have RPM ive noticed in the past, xs ones do though. Maybe he wants the oil pressure/temp guages? Not hard anyway, as long as you have the relevant wiring for what guages you want to work it should all plug in. So you will need extra wiring to make a rev counter work. timmsy19 3 Posted January 10, 2006 ive been thinking of doing the same on my non gti non xs/rallye and it dosnt have the rpm gauge. is this the same principle as above
pugrallye 0 Posted January 10, 2006 (edited) if you get gti clocks , grab loom too that runs to fuse box, makes life much much easier, virtually plug and play (except for the extra senders for the gauges that will need plumbing in) Edited January 10, 2006 by pugrallye
nelly 0 Posted January 11, 2006 cool... sounds straight forward enough.. as much as i would like to keep the car as standard as poss when i get my hands on one.... the dash just looks so gay and out of place! all i can say is we in the uk got bumped with the rallye!!
