i am purchasing full leather seats this week in black and white :)

i have bought some leather headrests of ebay for £24 in black for the rear seats but my new seats have a white middle on the headrests to match the seat .

can you dye leather thats already done or will i have to source some white leather to sew over the top.

It might be possible to paint them using special leather paint.. cos a leather specialist came round me house to repair the leather sofa and he had to repaint the damaged leather ..Is it this week you want to come and look at the seats??

you'll find that leather restorer products onthe market provide liquids to clean, dye and soften the leather. that's the restoration process

It is possible to dye the leather but I would strongly recommend NOT to do it yourself.

there are plenty of DIY leather restorer kits on sale, especially for classic cars etc. and they all provide dye. I have used one of the kits myself and the results was fantastic. So no problem using dye

But going from dark colours to light actually requires bleaching the hide. You'll never get a satisfactory result in my opinion. Phone up a coach trimmer for advice and a quote. It'll probably put you off having rear headrests!

obviously i'm referring to restoring to the same colour. ALso I did black leather that is probably easier than any colour. I'd have no issues restoring pug black/gret leather

Have a look at the seats he's buying. You'll understand that yes, restoring leather to the same colour isn't particularly difficult. Making it go from black to white, well unless he's michael jacksons surgeon. Its almost impossible.

Im just after leaving my front seats up tonight with a guy to refurbish them. They are badly worn at the sides and he says that he is going to use leather dye to help blend them in. He is doing the whole seat so that it is all the same colour. I would recommend in your case to seek a specialist about doing it. Hit could be hard since there is two colours of leather on the one object so getting the nice joint line tidy could be a problem. As i said seek pro advice. :)
