205 Switches/warning Lights

Recommended Posts

Frequentflyer

Having just purchased the heated front seats off a 405 with the intention of fitting them to my CTi, I thought that I would link each seat up to a switch/warning light in the centre of the fascia, where there is space for 5 switches but only three are used at the moment, i.e. two are blanks.

Is it possible to buy these switches/warning lights without any symbols on them? or can one remove the symbols? any ideas. Thanks.

Peugeot do sell a switch with a heated seat symbol on it (part no 6553 38) as heated seats were an option in some cold countries, but I don't want to even think how much they'd want for a pair of them. :(

They don't do blank switches, but the easiest way is probably to get a couple of spare foglight/heated screen switches from a scrappy/ebay, pry out the coloured window and carefull scratch off the symbol, or maybe use some paint stripper on a cottom bud.

They're about 7 - 8 quid each, and the 205 only has one switch that powers both seats together. But with all that space you could put a seperate switch in for each seat and fill up all 5 positions  You can also still buy the 5 way trim panel too

Really! I'd assumed they'd be stupdily expensive.

I might ask about some next time I'm at the dealer. I made up some heater pads a few months back and never got round to fitting them.

Many thanks Ryan - very helpful. I will see what the local Peugeot dealer has to say.

Thanks Super Josh,

My car is fitted with a 5-way trim panel already, and if they only cost that much, I may as well try and buy two of the correct switch.

Have now ordered two from the local Peugeot dealer in Reading - £27 for the pair.

Thanks

Roy
