Guest btwstripe Posted January 3, 2006 folks i`m just curious to what a recon rear beam is? can someone explain? as in what is taken off and replaced?
Jonmurgie 2 Posted January 3, 2006 A search would dig out many threads... but loosly it's replacing the beam bearings and seals... though usually you find the stub axle's are shot as well depending on how knackered the beam is...
Anthony 1,003 Posted January 3, 2006 Basically as Jon said - a reconditioned rear beam is one that's been stripped down and overhalled, with the bearings and seals having been changed along with any parts that are worn/damaged.
Guest btwstripe Posted January 3, 2006 thanks for that, i`ve had a load of experience rebuilding saxo axles but i would never say they were "reconned" if you know what i mean. just i wondered for the price folk charge, i thought there was more to it to be honest.
