Guest VesToft Posted January 3, 2006 I have a 205 but wouldt like to have a 309 GTI rear beam on it. I thought I had found a seller, but it turns out, that it is a beam from 309 Green. He thinks the beam he has and a beam from GTI is the same. Can anyone please tell me if the are or aren't. Thanks
Jonmurgie 2 Posted January 3, 2006 No idea what a 309 Green is to be honest?! Though you will only find the GTI beam on a GTi and possibly the Turbo Diesel (if they did a TD of the 309).
Guest VesToft Posted January 3, 2006 Have no idea. The guy only said it was a 309 Green and it has drumbrakes, so I have my doubts.
Anthony 1,003 Posted January 3, 2006 If it's got drums then it won't be a GTi spec beam. The lower spec ones are the same width, but have thinner torsion and anti-roll bars on them (thinner than even 205 GTi ones, let alone 309 GTi) and hence don't give the improvement that a 309 GTi item will. Jon - for reference, even 309 TD beams are inferior to GTi items.
