1.6 or 1.9?

There is possibly a slight difference (as small as 100g) due to the different offset.

Graham.

I recently ripped out all of the soundproofing from inder the carpet in my 205 and it came in at 13.8kg and the only downside is that it's slightly louder in the cabin but to combat this i just turn the sterio up. Win Win situation i think

now updated

anyone know the following?

Bendix front caliper--------------2.2 kgs

247mm 205 front disc------------4.3 kgs

Standard front pads---------------approx 1kgs Kgs

total for 205 1.6 setup including 4 pads, 2 discs, 2 calipers

14 Kgs

307 Hdi 283mm x 26 brake disc-----6.9 kgs

307 hdi bosch caliper----------5 Kgs

Ferodo ds2500 pads--------------1.2 Kgs

Total for 307 setup including 4 pads, 2 discs, 2 calipers.

25 kgs... exactly.

so to offset the extra unsprung weight, you would need to loose 5kgs a side (oz superlegeras vs standard 1.9 speedlines)

Cheers

Justin

It's also the cheapest colour in the Awlgrip range mostly used in Aviation, and easiest design graphics over.

How do you work that out ?

density of a typical white paint is 1.3

density of a typical black paint is 1

A black paint formulated with carbon black pigment has a much better opacity therefore less paint is needed to get full coverage.

Therefore even going with using 2 litres of each paint to paint the outside of a car.

mass = volume x density

white - mass = 2 x 1.3 = 2.6kg

black - mass = 2 x 1 = 2kg

Steve

a friend of mine who has been spraying race cars for 30 years now in a business that he took over from his dad who was doing it for 40 years told me that white is the lightest colour. I chose to take his word for it

1.9 8v weight

Topic about V6 engine gives an approximate weight of 50kg's heavier than the 2.0t engine.
