cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted December 12, 2005 ok, here's the idea - we post weight information for anything and everything we weighed. this information comes very useful and has multiple usage, from weight saving reasons (polyester stuff, lightened flywheels etc) to simpy info that comes handy when you need to send parts by post. please only post VERIFIED weights (weighed first hand by you on relatively precise scales) of all the parts - engine components, bodywork parts, interior bits, brakes, wheels, tyres etc etc. this will stop people posting "how much does xyz weight?" and i will ultimately digest it and make a nice useful list for use on the website too. ------------------------- i'll start off with some weights i've just digested: Garrett T25 turbo - 8 kg Pugspares exhaust manifold - 20 kg standard GTI bonnet - ~13kg Italian made Speedline - 8 kg French made SMR - 9.1 kg OZ Superleggera: 15" 4.9 kg, 17" 7.1 kg, 18" 8.3 kg Rota Attack 6.5x15" - 5 kg inlet manifold + jenvey throttle bodies + trumpets + packaging = ~4.5 kg DCOEs (complete pair of carbs with trumpets) - 4.7 kg GSXR 1000 42mm TBs (4 x bodies, with fauel rail, and bots and bobs) - 2.5 kg XU10J4 block - 40 kg XU9J4 with 4 liners - 21 kg S16 engine with all parts on - 160 kg standard radiator - 5 kg Nissen aluminium radiator - 2.6 kg Item________________________Old Weight____New Weight_______Saving Driver door internals___________3_____________0_______________3 Passenger door internals_______3____________0________________3 Driver Rear 1/4 Windows_______1.7___________1________________0.7 Passenger Rear 1/4 Windows____1.7___________1________________0.7 Driver Windows_______________3.7___________1.4______________2.3 Passenger Windows____________3.7___________1.4______________2.3 Bonnet______________________12.5__________7.9______________4.6 Slam Panel___________________1.1___________0.2______________0.9 Radiator_____________________5_____________2.6_____________2.4 Heater______________________11_____________0_______________11 Inner Door panel______________2_____________0_______________2 Under Dash__________________11____________0_______________11 Dash_______________________4______________1________________3 Battery_____________________10____________4.9______________5.1 boot_______________________17___________6.5______________10.5 Rims (SMR to OZ)___________36.4__________19.6_____________16.8 Total_____________________126.8_________47.5_____________79.

crogthomas 0 Posted January 13, 2006 Doing my bit for 205-kind I purchased myself a set of steel wheels from a 406 (1996 model if it makes any difference). They are 15" diameter, 6" wide and 19mm ET. Exactly the same as 1.9 alloys then. Without tyres, or balancing weights but including the valve and a bit of dirt, they weigh 9142.6 grams each (9.1kg for the mathematically challenged). Which makes them about the same as the 1.9 SMR alloy wheels as posted above. Which is nice. They were weighed on a set of recently calibrated laboratory scales accurate to 0.1g. crogthomas 0 Posted February 22, 2006 Had my car on a set of corner weight scales the other day. For those interested. A 1989 1.9 GTi, non-sunroof in totally standard condition to my knowledge. Has electric windows and central locking, half leather seats, etc. Full fuel tank, spare wheel and bracket in the boot. Front washer bottle filled, rear empty. Oil, coolant and brake fluid, topped up. The only items missing that might make a difference are the jack and wheel brace from under the bonnet. There are no mud flaps or foot mats, the parcel shelf is missing, the rear boot panel and badges have fallen off and (along with probably any other French car of a similar age) there are a multitude of nuts and bolts missing from various places. Total 889kg with 63% on the front. Accurate to 0.5 kg. Corner weights were: Left Right Front 274.5 282.5 Rear 170 162 Craig

jonD6B 0 Posted April 18, 2006 I have just weighed my 1989 1.9 GTI. Fully stripped out less the dashboard with a Cobra Imola2 seat and 4 point harness. The car still has all the glass including the (dealer option) glass sun roof and was weighed with 1/4 tank of petrol. The car weighs exactly 800KG on a weigh bridge ( +/- 10KG ). Does anyone know how much fuel weighs per Gallon?
