Benito 0 Posted August 23, 2005 Draper Bennetts And you can get Laser tools from GSF. Halford's sell all those, they have Laser, Draper & Stanley tools. Chris
Anthony 1,003 Posted August 24, 2005 Laser... OK for tools that you use very occasionally, but my experience of their stuff is that it's cheap (and looks/feels it) and not very durable
Simes 248 2 Cars Posted August 24, 2005 Sean, I found a set of Halfords allen keys fitted, much better than my long set of Facom ones. For the 21mm nut at the top of the strut I bought one of these...to complete my set! Not cheap at £21 though.
Anthony 1,003 Posted August 24, 2005 7mm hex socket and a 21/22mm drop link spanner is fine for undoing the nut on top of the front struts - no special tools required in my experience.
Rippthrough 98 Posted August 24, 2005 Laser... OK for tools that you use very occasionally, but my experience of their stuff is that it's cheap (and looks/feels it) and not very durable <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I bought a 16mm ring spanner as I didn't have one in my set of Cresent stuff. I bent it the same day.
Jay 1 Posted August 24, 2005 I find Laser tools are excellent.... ...at rounding things off and breaking stuff...
Rippthrough 98 Posted August 24, 2005 I find Laser tools are excellent.......at rounding things off and breaking stuff... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My cresent stuff has withstood years of use and abuse, and they haven't even got a scratch.

jackherer 543 Posted August 24, 2005 Theres a local tool specialists near me that is run by people that really know what they're doing and they open at 6am and close at 6pm, will order stuff and have it by the next morning and they are cheap too! I try to buy stuff there rather than large companies online etc cos I appreciate their level of service and I'd recommend looking in your local yellow pages or something to see if there is anything similar near to you. M@tt 77 Posted January 23, 2006 (edited) apologies for reviving an old topic but i just wanted to recommend www.justoffbase.com as i've purchased quite a bit off them and their prices and service are excellent. I just noticed at the weekend that in my set of draper expert spanners that i ordered back in novemeber i'd actually received 2 18mm spanners instead of an 18mm and a 19mm so i emailed them today explaining the siutuation seeing if they could do anything. I offered to send them the 2 18mm spanners as proof but half expected to have to send the whole lot back etc only to receive an email back at 8.30 this evening (about 20 mins after i sent mine) saying no need to send anything back they will get on to draper first thing tomorrow and get the correct one sent straight out and apologiesed for any inconvenience. two thumbs up!!
