Bonnet Lifters

Recommended Posts

Or enlarge the hole perhaps?
The M6 thread is in the side of the bonnet so I douibt it. :)

Mad proff, did you have a look at the link to Springfixlinkages I sent you on MSN earlier? They show threaded ball studs in their catalogue which they could have in the size you need.

What size is the ball end?

Graham.

Just go to a scrappy and get the balls out of the end of 106 struts, you will need a 13mm spanner.

(I got bored this morning and robbed the balls off the boot of the 106 to make a bonnet lifter system, need to go to the scrappy and get some more now)

Hi Hilgie,

Super Josh

That looks good Hilgert, are you pleased with the way they operate?. The URL is slightly wrong and should be this.

Which part did you use?

Part. no. 170716 Opel Corsa A

or

Part. no. 170718 Opel Corsa B

And where did you buy your 6mm Balls from?

Josh

EDIT Looks like Andi beat me to it. I assume that Corsa A must be the Nova in the U.K. And Corsa B would be the Corsa, as we know it over here.

 I'm sure that's not something you ever ask a gentleman in polite conversation!!

btw - our 'nova' is an opel corsa 'a', allegedly called corsa on the continent as "no va" in spanish is "no go" and they were made over there... not sure on the truthfulness of that but that's what I've heard.

corsa b is the one we know as a corsa, the old one with the round headlights, and corsa c is the newest corsa (with the sorta triangular lights at the front).

170716 Opel Corsa A is what I used. They come with 8mm balls so I just drilled a 7mm hole and tapped new M8 threads in.

That's true. In fact that sort thing happened to various car names around the world.

It did, in fact the MR2 had its name changed for the French market, as it sounded too much like Mairte (sp?), which means "s*it" :)

Merde

Same reason why the Fiat Croma never sold well in Holland. The're is an old butter brand which is called Croma as well. They never realised that.

Well. I can't because I don't have a full slampanel anymore, but I'm sure it will drop shut with a normal slampanel.
