Guest ashnicholls Posted August 17, 2005 why not, if my car is lift up reverse. and the gti box i have is lift up reverse, and looks similar on the outside?????????
Ahl 4 Posted August 17, 2005 Because the cars have different gearboxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rods are same type, but chances are they are the wrong length. You might be able to adjust them a bit. Im sure someone knows if they can be made to fit or not.
Guest ashnicholls Posted August 18, 2005 ye i know they are diff inside, but if the box looks the same on the outside then surely the rods should be the same. so you all think i need new rods??????????
niklas 1 Posted August 18, 2005 (edited) The rods are different, so is the gear change mechanism. One of the rods are going on the other side of the exhaust compared to the GTI model. EDIT: "gear change" = lever Edited August 18, 2005 by niklas

Guest ashnicholls Posted May 28, 2006 can anyone answer this, if i bought a set of rods of miles, what else would i need, the L shape lever, which you lengthen to shorten the throw?
sonofsam 5 Posted May 28, 2006 3 x rods, plus L shape lever wich you can get from the scrap yard for a couple of quid. Shorten it to shorten the throw. ie quickshift do you mean. Also is your subframe pivot point going to be different?
