All looking good Jon, nice to see some real progress happening & it all getting closer to being finished (for now anyway).

Looks superb, maybe worth putting some mesh over the front of the headlight though, just some thin gauge stuff as panel filters aren't normally exposed to ram air so directly.

There is mesh behind the foam... I'll see how well it lasts and decide what to do I reckon, only costs about £30-£40 for a new filter :P

Thanks... got a little bit more done at the weekend but this coming week we HAVE to get it finished and running, just waiting for a couple of small parts...

Today I managed to get the throttle linkage put together and on the car... it's a nice bit of kit onces it's together but to start off with it's just a bag with LOTS of bits!!

progress32.jpg

But it does go together...

progress33.jpg

And once you then spend another age messing about with rod lengths and positioning it eventually ends up looking pretty damned sweet :D

Hope to get the injectors in tomorrow...

Looking very sweet mate, any news on your QEP engine?

Is you plan to get it running on the throttle boddies for now, then in the Summer remove the engine and fit the one from QEP?

Yeah, getting the TB's setup and working on this engine for a couple of track days etc. then slot the QEP engine in and re-mapping the TB's to match :D

Just got word that the pistons have arrived... ordering up some more special parts tomorrow... should be a nice little motor when it's done :)

Got the injectors sorted and in so far today...

These are 300cc/min injectors from a BMW M3 so shoudl be good enough for my needs ;)

Loom has also started today... more pics here: http://www.mdracing.co.uk/jenvey.asp

Looking good. Are Power Station making the loom from scratch?

Cheers.

At the moment they are making a 'link lead' between the standard engine loom and the MoTeC M48:

progress38.jpg

And this is the inside of an Mi16 ECU!

progress39.jpg

They will do me a complete engine loom for the new engine though, should keep things nice and neat... may try to persuade them to do a complete CAR loom to get rid of all the unecessary stuff ;)

Looks good Jon! I met Matt from QEP the other day and he was telling me you do all their design. I take it Power Station are a client? Perhaps try and swing a 4wd conversion out of them to?

Is there a good reason for not using shielded wire Jon?

You only need shielded on the low voltage stuff. ie lamda sensor and trigger(s)

Correct me if i'm wrong but the CAS is one of the signals your talking about, which would come through the ecu plug....

Got the Oil Catch Tank fitted today... it's a bit on the large side though I'll get a smaller one at a later date:

progress40.jpg

Quite please with how it's all fitted though, with moving the oil filler too... all works out quite nicely! Filter on the catch tank was £7 from Motorworld, Halfords do the Pipercross ones at £17 but they don't really do much so I don't see a problem in saving a tenner

Having my doubts that my car will be finished in time for Silverstone next Friday... though knowing PS it will be a last minute rush on Thursday and I'll have NO time to get used to it and see if anything needs tweeking, it will be straight out on track!

that black wire in the background is probably sheilded, and will be going onto some of those unused pins I imagine.

is the inlet manifold a longmans one? I thought they were 2 pieces or is a different one needed for throttle bodies than for carbs?

who's... mine (which is a longmans) or that 8v?

Stainless steel is a great application for air boxes as it's a very poor conductor of heat (and electricity). Maybe not as good as carbon fibre, but easier and cheaper to construct.
