paul wicks 0 Posted January 5, 2005 Which ones are you running in your Mi16? The Champion, NGK, and Bosch guides in Halfords werent too clear in stating which ones too use, they dont speciafically list the Mi16 engine, so am abit confused? Has anyone got the actual part numbers for any of tehh above?

paul wicks 0 Posted January 6, 2005 Thanks for the replies, will change the spark plugs and oil this weekend.. More interested in the Bosch and Champion Plugs as the NGK were really crap on cold starts.
Toddman 0 Posted January 6, 2005 I have always found the NGK triples to be the best for from cold starting but the champion part is on that link I put up. Cheers Luke

paul wicks 0 Posted January 9, 2005 Thanks for all your help can someone tell me what the difference is between these plugs. Champion RC7YC for a 205 1.9 GTI (without cat) Champion RC9YC for a 205 1.9 GTI (with cat) What does the number is the middle mean, as thats the only difference between the two?? Also if you increase or decrease the elecrode gap, how would this affect performance. How would you know whether this was required. Thanks in advance Paul
paul wicks 0 Posted January 9, 2005 Just found the NGK guide to how spark plugs work - very good read confirms everything I have been thinking. http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinfo/spar...1000&country=US

kenan 0 Posted February 21, 2006 Mi-16 1.9 (without cat) - NGK BCP7ET Mi-16 1.9 (with cat) - NGK BCPR6ET Chris I'm running a MI16 with cat but am also running the 6's, will this make any differance?
C_W 3 1 Cars Posted February 21, 2006 If it's running a CAT then those are the right ones aren't they? Mine (non cat) runs BCP7ET (single electrode) and has done the last couple of sets. Originally the motor factors gave me the 6s but after look on NGK and checking my old plugs they were the 7s.
kenan 0 Posted February 21, 2006 sorry, was suposed to have typed "without" cat. So I have the wronge ones, seems ok though did get a missfire when she got hot the other day
Gavtrials 0 Posted February 22, 2006 (edited) hey, Quite intresting reading through about this post with the ngk plugs, I allways used to get given the 7et's but the last 2 sets i bought were 6et's, I have not found any difference in starting or running atal, They seem to both do the same job. Allso just noticed about the 1 and 3 electrode thing, Both 6et and 7et have allways had 3 electrodes on them when i have bought them!
