Help with some part numbers

Recommended Posts

Does the xu10j4 (s16) use the same piston rings and big end bearings as the 4RS or are they different part numbers? Also is the xud crank the same size bearings (main and big end) as a 4rs?

1 Ring on the RS is thinner, so its a different ring pack.

big ends in aftermarket are the same, dont recall on oem numbers.

Mains and big ends for xu10 and xud are interchangeable.

Yes, all the NA XU10's use the same rod bearing and mains bearings. And yes, the XUD9 takes exactly the same mains bearing, as the tunnel and crank dimensions are identical to XU10.

XU9 and XU10 NA all use the same rod bearing. Beware though, and read my thoughts in the other recent post on bearings.

eg in ACL

rods 4B7700H or HX

mains 5M1677

No idea about rings.

Main bearings are the same on the J4 and J4R but the J4RS has specific part numbers.

As for rod bearings for XU10 NA you have:

  • Up to 01/01/1993
  • J2 up to 12/06/1994 and J4
  • J2 since 13/06/1994 and a few early J4R without drilled rods (J4RS rods)
  • Regular J4R
  • J4RS

Now in aftermarket I guess they only care about fit not material so there must be less part numbers.
