Brass/bronze linkage bearing

Is this bearing replaceable?  Ours has a small amount of play around the shouldered bolt that passes through it, I'm not sure how critical that is the overall gearchange 'feeling'

oem was plastic, so yes. Bronze would be good. That looks like steel?

Those in the photo look like the original plastic ones

 

Its worth getting rid of as much slop as you can

 

There are bronze bushes available although my experience is that most need a small mod of some sort to fit nicely on the shouldered bolt/pin. Easy if you have a lathe but not so easy otherwise.

Saw these above , I replaced mine with new plastic ones and its way too tight now guess they were not quite right , you can get a quickshift from Baker bm also with the bronze bushes in it .

I think the photo is a little misleading - in 'real life', the bushes are bronze in colour - but I wouldn't be able to tell if that was sintered or phosphor.

 

I'm trying to establish the benefit we will get from replacing them.  There is some play between the bushes and the bolt, but what is normal?

The plastic ones had a thin spring steel washer on top to allow some movement , if they are bronze already they are probably fine.
