Parts required for MI16 Rebuild

Hi guys,

 

I've been looking for ages for an XU10J4 26T oil pump sprocket and according 52 link  chain for my XU9J4 MI16, as well as the XU10J4 oil pump spacer plate. I was hoping someone on here may have one lying around I could buy?

Stick with XU9J4 setup. The 26T sprockets are soft and wear badly.

On the pump side you can look for a XU10J4R/XU5JP/XU7JP one (1001.77). They have the 6 bar spring and guide pin, anti emulsion chain guard mounting points and often better machining than older pumps.

 

If you really want flow the late XU7JP4 pump (1001.99) has a 21T sprocket instead of 29T, with a 22T one on the crank it goes at 105% of crank speed instead of 90% for the 26T/29T setup.

Thanks mate. Do you reckon this will be necessary? I have found a spring to put in my pump, and with a baffle for road driving mainly, I figured this would be alright?

The 1001.99 pump? it's probably too much with no external oil drain from the head and for all we know the sprocket could be as soft as the 26T.

 

On the other hand if you can find a cheap used 1001.77 pump with the chain guard (8), guide pin (12) and pump baffle (9) that's not a bad upgrade.
