Coolant hose routing

Recommended Posts

mmt

Hi Guys,

My oli is running hot. Want to run both the original Oil/water heat Exchange and an aftermarket Air/oil cooler(on top)

Can I T the second coolant hose from the heat Exchanger directly into the expansion tank?

thanks

Why would you run both? I run the AC remote filter mount with a 13 row oil cooler. As do my racing friends here in Aus. In winter, we have to cover up the oil cooler. In summer, 100-110ºC is the norm. That is for dry sump. For a wet sump, you'll need a 15 row cooler.

Thanks Peter, I run a 13 row PWR (Aussie) Oil cooler and wanted to add extra cooling capacity by adding the original heat exchanger. Rather have too much cooling and reduce than having too little.

where are you meassuring the temp? I run a sensor in the front og the Oil pan. Is there a “more right” or better place to messsure the temp?

in the front of the oil pan is correct for a wet sump. I run it on the block inlet, between oil pump & filter.
