Wiring from ignition key barrel

Recommended Posts

I've currently got all my dashboard removed and keen to get the wiring tidied up as it was a bit of a mess on the driver's side. One thing that's bugging me is the loom from the ignition barrel with the two connectors and the loom it connects to. That part of the loom seem unnecessarily long, so always a pain to tuck away. Whereabouts under the dash should this bit of the loom be hung from, and should it be quite so long?
Over the years I've had things like immoblisers, remote locking, and other gubbins being shoehorned in that area under the steering wheel, so know what's standard is tricky.

it appears long because it clips to the side of the kick panel not the dashboard, so needs to be pretty long!

You mean on the right hand side, to the right of the accelerator pedal? Can't say I've noticed a clip around that area.

Yeah, there should be two slotted holes in the top of the kick panel iirc & there should be little clips slid into the plugs that fit into these holes.

There's 4 slotted holes in mine, and such clips are long gone. I'll probably have to improvise with something else to secure them there.
