Purge valve solenoid

Hello guys

Been solving a damaged wire in the AFM connector harness after 3 years without running the car. All seemed perfect. No error codes, car running smoothly on idle for about 15 minutes. So just reorganized the wiring a little bit and other small issues to set it to the road. But.... Out of nowhere, engine light again and error code 34 (purge valve solenoid) on the diagnostic. Int only took a small acceleration on the pedal and light pop everytime. Thing is...... My pug doesn't have a solenoid valve or a valve for that matter. The system just don't exist in the car. I had the hose that goes from the canister to the valve cover damaged. Replaced it. Error gone. Revving the engine... No light... Great. When I was going to go home. Engine light again. What in the world is wrong here?.

With no solenoid the ECU won't be happy.

If your car is a 205 with AFM and ECU error codes your engine should be a XU9JAZ and those have a purge valve solenoid.

But the car worked fine for years and the hardware for it just not there.... But yes has AFM and diagnostic green 2 pin socket

Is there a photo where I can see where it should be.?

The canister lives behind the LH headlight. A vacuum hose runs from there to the inlet, and as shown in the pic, the solenoid is along the way, engine bay side. You can replace the solenoid with a resistor, as shown in the pic. Diagram is from an Mi16 DFW, but they are the same. Solenoid in M346.

And.... The system is there after all. I'm measuring a resistance I the connector of arround 43,8kohms. Should I consider that the wiring harness and socket are OK?

Just as Peter said, a 1200 Ω resistor that can handle 20V.

yes, but I want to keep the valve and mine is dead. BOSCH  280 142 300 seems compatible. Just wanted to make sure before order because this reference is easy to still obtain new

Managed to source not one but two original Bosch used purge solenoid valves. Error went away. Happy days! NOT......... Now car idles perfectly but if I do a kick down, revs will go above 3000rpm perfectly. If I accelerate slowly or hold the accelerator pedal, revs won´t pass the 1500rpm on the instrument cluster, although the engine rpm´s go above that but in a slugish mode. All this in Neutral. Car is undrivable like this. No errors on the ECU or engine light . Need to say that the AFM module is not a original Bosch one. It´s a LOWE Automovil one. Apart from that car is in original status. I´m lost again....

The strangest thing in all that is the fact that the rpm´s wont rise in the instrument cluster only when I accelerate slowly ...

Most electricals problems on the AFM side should be detected by the ECU so maybe the flap is stuck or someting. That could also be a problem on the ignition side, either with the ignition module or the distributor head.
