Thanks Peter, interesting that the rom range you mention are where i see a hole on the map when driving, i get a lot of hesitation around that area of I open the throttle too quick, kind of have to drive around it.

What engine / spec is the 405 please Peter, trying to gauge how similar this should be to mine.

Had to put different injectors in after one stuck wide open, this has amplified the missing / hesitation I am getting on part load.

XU10J4, 1.9L injectors, Stage I inlet cam, fuel & ignition load via MAP sensor.

Ah 16v, will be quite different to an 8v I guess.

Theoretically if I put more advance on the ignition would it require more or less fuel?

Not really. The 8V will require a few more degrees at full load, because of less efficient chamber shape and thus burn rate. Most stock 8V's run 30º at WOT.

 

The fuel and ignition are only vaguely related.  Changes at light load would be corrected by O2 closed loop. Full load you should verify on the dyno.
