What size fuse and has it got normal headlight bulbs and wiring etc? Is it side light, dip beam, high beam?

Hi

problem when on normal headlights and the fuses are both 25 amp

it gets that hot you can’t touch them

and the bulbs are all standard , never been changed since I’ve had the car

Have you checked the earth for the headlights on the front panel, the yellow block? Very prone for corroding.

Unlikely To be an earth fault, that tends to exhibit itself as a dim lighting etc.

This sounds more like a short.
