I just fitted engine brace after years of it lying around but now the bonnet doesn’t shut properly the curve is too high i don’t want to bash it to make it fit, any ideas?

Yep they dont fit.  At the time I fitted mine i thought it was because I had plates on the strut tops but thinking back it was way out.  I had to cut the bar off the plates, lower them and notch the bar itself.  I don't have many pics but here are some

edit - i know mine is the wrong way around technically but I needed somewhere to mount my ecu so I hung it from that bar

Tighten the bolt until the strut brace almost rests on the air intake pipe. It should should shut just fine then. At least on both of mine it does that way.
