PAS Ram Bush

Recommended Posts

If you have PAS, you need to keep an eye on the bushes in the ram. When these fail, the two small fluid pipes take the load of the ram. The constant movement left and right, work hardens the pipes and they eventually crack. My fix for the race car was to make solid bushes as shown.

The 205 had a ram for the GTI/CTI/diesel turbo and another for the normal cars. Rams changed after 02/1991 but the new rams part numbers also changed once so you should have at least three potential "GTI" rams and that's only the spare parts that we know about.

The 309 was using the 205 regular ram even for the GTI and the 205 GTI ram only for the GTI16 but I have heard about rams stamped "GTI16" so maybe it was even more complicated than that at the factory.

Also the last regular ram for the 205 and 309 is the one used by all 306 except the GTI6.

The difference between the 91 GTi and 93 Si (XU5M 3 door) is just the bush ID. They're easily swapped around.
