I had to remove the theromostat housing from my 1.9 Gti and noticed that one of the sensors that screws into it, the electrical metal tab connection is loose, so I will replace it. The sensor has M7 and also 110 marked on it.

I have attached a photo, it is the sensor on the right. Is this the coolant temp sensor?

One is the temp gauge needle, the other is the warning light in the temp gauge.

Which of the two is my one broken one?

Is it essentialy a temp coolant sensor for the radiator fan?

Bigger one is temp. warning light , smaller for the temp. gauge needle ..

They're both for the instrument cluster , ie. neither is for the radiator fan switching .

Rad fan switches on/off via thermo switch mounted on the side of the radiator .

if you open up the other other Phil's link above, it shows two options for your sensor which is number 2 in the diagram

#024243 for a 105deg sensor  OR

#024249 for a 110deg sensor

yours being stamped 110 would indicate the part u wanna order is 024249
