205 dimmas, enlighten me please

Some questions i cant find answers to regarding dimmas.

Were the official 205 dimma cars all steel, or just resin kits that they put on themselves?

Did all the dimmas have the same engines?

Is it only the official cars that get a dimma plate or could someone buy a genuine kit and a plate to match?
