assuming you mean number 7 in the pic, the diametre given is 13mm

also, I've just put a caliper on the ball on my own subframe and it was 18mm

maybe someone else can explain the discrepency cause I can't

Thanks Gohn, yep, part 7 dia. is what I'm looking for.

I've seen references to 13mm with regard to that part but I thought that was for the nut under the ball, and for the locknut attaching it to the subframe.

Think I better take mine off to cross reference dia. with yours just to make sure.

Your microfiche scans are REALLY useful, thanks for uploading it.

Item 7 - Control Ball Joint (these are generically named 'ball studs' - found one exact replacement but is OOS/NLA)

Original Part:

Ball diameter 13mm

Hex nut diameter 14mm

Overall length 44mm

Height from top of ball to bottom of hex 26mm

Thread length 18mm

Can't find an exact replacement, closest I can find in stock and available is:

https://www.wixroyd.com/en/catalog/design-elements/rod-ends-joints/ball-and-socket-joints/threaded-ball-studs/65550/65550.w0008/g+m+c+s+a+nr

overall length 35mm

Flange dia, face to face 11mm (two flats, not hex)

thread M8

Incidentally rod lengths are:
735 or 740mm

280mm

110mm

Most ball studs are designed according to DIN 71803. If it's not what you need take a look at ball studs for gas struts, those are more varied.
