Hi all,

Completely confused over which spark plugs I need for my 1.9 D6B engine. Recommendations please?!

.. to add , also from NGK :

For non cat. 1.9 engine - NGK BCP7ES (or resistor type plug - BCPR7ES)

For cat. 1.9 engine - NGK BCPR6ES

Thanks all, I was on the right lines but good to get some reassurance!

I've always gone for NGK on the XU engine, never had as good reliability or results from anything else I've tried.

As above really - you can't go wrong with NGK in my experience as they're readily available, cheap and reliable.  As per Damir's post, BCP7ES are what you need for a D6B (or as said, the resistor version BCPR7ES will also suffice)

Just be sure to buy them from a reputable supplier as, like with an increasing number of car parts these days, there are sadly fakes out there.

Does the same (NGK BCP7ES) recommendation go for the 1.6 (1989 CTi) as well? I think yes, but the Autodoc site is stating unsuitable for my car!

Well, done more research, and the concensus seems to be that NGK BCP6ES is the one. So I've changed my order to those ... got a refund as well.
