PAS Lower UJ shaft

Recommended Posts

Bit of a longshot posting on here but I know some of you choose to use this over facebook groups stlll..!

The lower UJ on my 309 is completely seized. It's a PAS, spline rack. I can't find a source for these online. Has anyone got a better suggestion than finding a used replacement? In case it helps, I measured it and it's 335mm long. From what I can tell there is only one length for PAS shafts though.

The OEM number Spoox quote does not match either of the numbers on here http://www.miamistu.co.uk/pug/

for the non power or power steering UJs

Might be worth a call

That's  definitely  a manual lower column, the pas variant has a shorter lower section and no boot.

You can buy a repair kit with the crucifix and bearings and repair your lower column.

I've not bought this myself but it looks like it will do the job

I was being polite, I'd rather scrap the car than pay spoox a penny :P

Oooh this is interesting! I'm not sure how they fit into the shaft but this is surely a better option than paying ~£50 for a used part that is also 30 years old. Thanks for sharing, I think I will order one anyway out of curiosity.

Ha, I thought I was just missing a boot! Not seen one on a 205/309 before.

I asked a family member that works in the parts industry to have a look and they came back with the Sasic 1034944 - problem is there aren't any clear photos to show it exactly. It certainly looks like a splined end from the blurry pic: https://spareto.com/products/sasic-steering-wheel/1034944
