Rear anti roll bar 106

Recommended Posts

Hi.

Finally got to start to mount my 106 gti rear arb. After 2 hours of sweat and blood, the old one is out. Interesting choice from the former owner. 21mm torsions but only 19mm arb. Now the 205 rod ends do not fit and the 106 neither. Is gti rod end different? I thought is was a strait swap when you use the 205 rod ends.

I ran 21mm bars and a 19mm ARB in my previous 205. It worked a treat, along with reset std front springs and custom Konis.

you need 306 end plates and black bush.

I ended up making hybrid's of 205/106. I think this is not bad since I can compensate for the bar being shorter and I might as well increase the threat size for the pull of tool.

Nice. I did the same with a custom ARB I had made. It was cheaper and easier to make new female ends then try and make splines to match the originals.

Total assembly is now a few mm longer then the 205 without any slack put in. I hope the slack on 205 is more then 2 mm normally. Else I will have to take the bar down a little.
