Recommended Posts

So I have got hold of a VTR engine black top I think people call it ? and want to run my xs tu3s head on it , but have found the tu3s block top engine mount and water housing and gearbox is not the same , I thought it was quite a simple bolt on job ? Or have I got the wrong block ?

PSA made plenty of 8v TU5, start by looking for the engine code on the block:

NFT, NFW, NFY, NFZ.

as you have discovered, iron block and alloy block water pumps and engine mountings are different, you need to use the iron block bracket.

no idea on the gearbox, are you saying the ma bellhousing from the TU3s wont fit the TU5?

Yh I’m getting to the bottom of it now you can buy a new plastic coolant flange to ge the pipes pointing in the right way , water pump is easy , Yh the tu3s gearbox has a different bolt pattern by the looks of it unless my box is not genuine ? I’ve got some codes from the box but not sure what it is
