What is the best tyre on a 205 GTI (185/55/R15 or 195/50/R15)

The 1.9 GTi i picked up has 185/65/R14 on it right now however it has 15 inch original speedline alloys. The tyres are eco tyres and I would prefer to go something more sporty and higher grip like michelin ps3s. A set of PS3 costs $183 each in 185/55/R15 and $165 each in 195/50/R15. Has anyone had any experience with these two sizes and can recommend whether the original 185 are better or whether they have better handling with 195. The 195 are also cheaper which is a plus.

Yes, I've tried both. The 185/55/R15 is better, as the side walls don't flex as much. Don't get sucked in by the wider, lower profile tyre. It's only another $72 in total.

Cheers Peter, will go with the 185/55/R15. God knows why it has 185/65/14 on it but they are pretty brand new so im going to put them on one of my other cars to sell haha!
