Help Identify sensor

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what this sensor at the back (towards firewall) of the engine (1.9 Gti) is?

Where are the connectors, wires likely to be?

Any help greatly appreciated!

What does gauge look like? Ours looks like this . Is it an actual gauge or a warning light on a gauge?  peugeot-205-gti-022.thumb.jpg.779746b1f02c40bc6362faabe04820b2.jpg

I've never seen a 205 with it, but as far as I know it functioned similar to how it does on BX's (that have a very similar cluster) - the oil pressure gauge (top left) acts as an oil level gauge for a few seconds on initial ignition-on.

Before 86 the 205 had a "oil level box", it was fitted on GTI, diesel, XU with carb... I've read that it used the oil pressure warning light and made it blink.
