Front Springs Colour Code

Recommended Posts

STEED

Hi,

Need to replace the front springs on my J reg 1.6 Gti.

Been to order a pair and am told they have colour codes on them.

Cleaned the old one's up and no sign of any colours on them,

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I believe and am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong Bilstein B4's are as close to OE as you will get now days. I don't recall seeing anything about colour codes.

Spencer, that's for shocks, not springs.

There's a good list of colour codes listed on Peugeot parts listing but I can't help with which you might need.

Miles at Pugracing has remade them to oe spec so he might be able to help out.

From memory , 1.9's had yellow colour dots/markings on the springs ... early 1.6's (Ph1) red , later 1.6's (Ph1.5 , Ph2) also yellow as 1.9's . Blue dots/markings , think i saw on euro rallye 205 springs .
