rear speaker cover removal:(

Hello everyone just wanted to check about how to remove the rear speaker covers on my 205 gti??

 

Im guessing they just pop off but they seem pretty wel stuck fast and really dont want to break them 

 

any advice please would be greatly appreciated 

 

i have to get them off as the back speakers are KNACKERED!

Hi,

I did it a few months ago and yes like as you said. There was a really small place to reach 4 screws. Thus I mounted with 3 only. May be removing the complete panel will be better.

sorry bout the slow reply, hope you haven't broken anything yet

 

its all a bit fiddly back there, as hakan says, but the covers will come off though

 

here's what it looks like out, this is the Right Rear

there are two small tabs along the bottom pic2, and two more substantial ones along the top surface

 

I've used a flathead or a panel clip remover in the past

 

I found the plastic here to be more forgiving than other areas, but still be careful as its old

 

also, its a tight fit getting a new set of speakers to fit, try and get ones with the same screw pattern
