XU10J4 Top Mount / Bracket type for 205?

Recommended Posts

Jim

Can anyone tell me if a 306 gti-6 top engine mounting bracket (the part that bridges between the rubber mount on top of inner wing to the bracket bolted to the block) is suitable for an XU10J4 in a 205?

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Well you can use the xu10j4 mount to fit a gti6 engine so I’d say yes

the one that isnt is a phase2 xsara as Citroen moved the cradle for the bush forwards to accept the more upright ew engine but still used the RFS engine in the vts.

they only put the 138 rfn engine in them, but in theory dropping a 180 in would be straightforward

I think some very late ones did get an EW in this country. The Xsara lasted quite a bit longer than the 306 I think, till 2006.

The XU top mount you can't use, are those from a 406. Although they appear identical, they're a fraction longer and will push the gearbox mount way out of line.
