Hardest parts to find

Recommended Posts

Doc 205

As parts become increasingly more difficult to find I’m intrigued to know what the consensus is on which exterior or interior trim parts are hardest to come by these days.

I’m guessing probably the wheel arch and side mouldings? Or certain dash components?

- Red trim inserts for the wheel arch & door mouldings. I 'think' you can buy these remade for a price.

- Certain dash components in good condition (dash binnacle unbroken, coin tray & lid).

- Standard air box and brackets. Again, available for a price.

- Standard PAS fittings and bracketry.

I've recently found out that some of the beam parts are now NFP too.

Complete airbox/filter assembly is hard to find secondhand, I think the more people revert back to original (to sell) will keep that going that way

1.9 hubs and driveshafts are getting more difficult

Here's my list of unobtainable stuff for my restoration - it's all NFP on ServiceBox.

The Museum had some of this stuff last year but is now unavailible. Neither Auto Doc nor Mr Auto have any of these items nor did a general web search yield any results. Second hand I may be lucky with the grilles, door pockets and armrest inserts but I don't fancy second hand seat belts and fuel hose

Through Peugeot?

My local place hasn't been open for a while to check, but it not too pricey I'd get one.

I can only see the engine bay ones on their website - not the fuel tank end.

Cheers Farmer - I'm not in a rush but will be in touch if I need to.

ARSE! Hopefully it's temporary, other stuff I found for my list is now showing an Unavailable message with no picture so maybe these will re-appear.

Ian,

The fuel tank Flexi hose is just standard fuel hose cut to length. Nothing special.

Its a little more to it the genuine hose at the ends etc

But standard hose works ok

i used Baker flexi from the fuel rail , Baker steel pipe up to the fuel tank then just decent hose with fuel clips , easy no fuss and easy to source.

The only issue i had with the Baker kit was the fuel filter brass adaptor they supplied didnt seem right for a standard fuel filter so i reused them. Also the initial hose they supplied (pressure) both parts perished after less than a year (about 2500miles ). Baker replaced them but still it was a little surprising.
