Spark plug NGK confusion

Recommended Posts

Kagor

Hi,

I am about to order a new set of NGK spark plugs for my 205 GTI 1989 1,9L XU9JAZ (DKZ). Stock, non-modified.

The Parts finder is confusing me.

BCPR5ES is recommended for a XU9JA Cat. by  https://www.ngkntk.com/nordic/part-finder/produktfinder/PKW/ZK_BENZINER/  (NGK Regional web site)

BCPR6E or BCPR6ES (S=standard, not much of a difference) is recommended for all 205 GTI with catalytic converters by https://www.ngkpartfinder.co.uk/cars_commercial.php (NGK UK web site)

Why does the UK site recommend a colder plug?

Thank you!  ^_^

Incorrect database , or error while doing cross reference with other plugs .. quite often while buying spark plugs as i've found , more so than with any other car part .

The right/correct spark plug for XU9JAZ DKZ engine from NGK is indeed the - BCPR6ES .. so "6" grade plug not the "5" .

Aside from NGK's , they run really good on Eyquem plugs (it's the OEM plug for PSA)
